Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew growing up in Mexico in a family who loved music. She grew up listening mostly to classical music, old boleros as well as traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana loves tangos, operas and other theatrical performances. Her mother taught her to sing, but she started more intense singing lessons through Flavio Belcerra when she was just 16 years old. he was a renowned Mexican opera tenor. She continued her musical studies at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. While a student, and as a young professional at the time in Mexico City and Guadalajara she sang with several chamber groups and choruses. She sang in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to Southern California. She has performed solo Latin American music for private occasions and is a part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. Passion and enthusiasm for art, music, and performing keeps her involved in many local projects as a teacher and performer. Ana has also been previously a member of Community Chorus of Redlands as and the Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana hopes that through her sharing of Latin American traditional songs, that she can bring about a desire, specifically among the younger generation to keep this tradition alive.
