Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri is an Indian actress who has gained fame for her role in Hum Aapke Hain Koun as well as Beta Saajan. The actress began her career in the early 1980s and was introduced to prominence with her performance in the film Tezaab where she appeared with an established actor Anil Kapoor. In the following film, she starred in the movie Dil in which she shared the screen alongside Aamir Khan. She was born into a middle-class household in Mumbai she started learning dance in the early years of her life. At the age of 15, she started acting but faced difficulties as most of her films were flops. They gained fame, and soon she was one of the top film actors. She took a hiatus from her career following her marriage, but returned to the world of entertainment. Recently, she had an integral role in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the struggles of women who are women in India. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards, out of which she was awarded eight. The actress was also honored with the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honour in India. Social work by her is well-known.
